More Than A Gym

Learn how our mission, people, and programs come together to empower youth and strengthen our community.

Our Vision

At CYBC, we envision a future where every young person has the support, structure, and confidence to reach their full potential—in school, in the ring, and in life. Through discipline-driven boxing training, competitive opportunities, and strength development, we guide youth toward goal-setting and personal growth. Our commitment extends beyond athletics, with academic support through our Si Se Puede center and enriching partnerships like After School Matters, empowering our members to thrive both inside and outside the gym.

Rooted in Community

For nearly two decades, we’ve worked at the intersection of sport, mentorship, and youth development—building more than athletes, building future leaders.

Our History

Founded in 2006, Chicago Youth Boxing Club (CYBC) is a nonprofit, sports-based youth development organization rooted in the North Lawndale and Little Village neighborhoods on Chicago’s Southwest Side.

CYBC was created to offer young people a safe and structured environment where they can develop discipline, resilience, and purpose through the sport of boxing. As an alternative to gang involvement and drug activity, our program takes a holistic approach to youth wellness—combining rigorous athletic training with mentorship and life skills development.

From the beginning, our mission has been to help youth build the confidence, determination, and community support needed to shape a positive future for themselves and those around them.

Fighting for Futures

Power Gloves is our annual boxing tournament that raises scholarship funds through youth competition and community support.

Victory by the Numbers

275+ fighters, 575 attendees, and nearly $26,000 raised—all through one unforgettable weekend of community and competition.
